Poor Zip <-> Dock Comms During Undocking
Viewing this guide for
This alarm is covered by this guide. Background
Section titled “Background”You were led here because the aircraft executive indicated that it never received the OPEN command acknowledgement from the dock while undocking. This is usually indicative of poor zip ↔︎ dock comms quality during undocking.

1 action
Ensure both the Dock and the Aircraft are grounded. Do not clear either discrepancies until the following steps explicitly tell you too.
2 question
Check the bay’s latch service state on Fleet Wrangler and take the appropriate action below depending on what it says:
3 reference
This means that the Dock never tried to open the latch. There is likely a comms issue with the Dock or the Aircraft.
4 question
In the ZERP BOM list for the aircraft, does this aircraft have the

P/N 0105564-000 docking fin enclosure?
5 reference
This is likely a hardware issue / known design defect specific to the
P/N 0105564-000 docking fin. 6 action
Clear the dock discrepancy, the dock may return to service.
7 action
Replace the docking fin. The aircraft may need to be manually removed. It may not be possible to reposition the aircraft because it might not be able to get out of the dock due to poor comms. The aircraft can return to service after the fin is replaced.
8 action
Continue to step 2.
9 question
Is this the first time this has happened on this Aircraft and/or this Dock?
10 reference
Clear both the aircraft and Dock Discrepancies. The Aircraft and Dock may return to service.
11 action
Manually remove the Aircraft from the Dock using Actuate Latch Commands.
12 action
Move the Aircraft to another Dock.
13 action
Clear the Dock and Aircraft discrepancies. The Aircraft and Dock may return to service.
14 action
Manually remove the Aircraft from the Dock using Actuate Latch Commands
15 action
Move the Aircraft to another Dock.
16 action
Clear the Aircraft Discrepancy. Aircraft may return to service. Do not clear the Dock discrepancy.
17 action
Follow the steps in Dock Not Communicating with Aircraft to determine what component is broken in the Dock to cause intermittent comms. Since this is an intermittent issue, you may need to wiggle connections to reproduce the failure.
18 escalation
Escalate to P2 Dock Hardware On Call if there is no resolution.
19 action
Manually remove the Aircraft from the Dock using Actuate Latch Commands
20 action
Clear the Dock discrepancy. The Dock may return to service. Do not clear the Aircraft discrepancy.
21 action
Follow the steps in Dock Not Communicating with Aircraft to determine what component is broken in the Aircraft to cause intermittent comms. Since this is an intermittent issue, you may need to wiggle connections to reproduce the failure.
22 escalation
Escalate to P2 Zip Hardware On Call if there is no resolution.
23 reference
This means that something went wrong with the latch between the start of preflight and takeoff.
24 action
Remove the Aircraft from the Dock using the RESET command, for steps see Actuate Latch Commands.
25 action
Clear the Aircraft Discrepancy. Aircraft may return to service. Do not clear the Dock discrepancy.
26 escalation
Escalate to P2 Dock Embedded On Call.
27 action
The Dock thought that it opened but the Aircraft did not exit. Follow Aircraft Stuck During Undocking After OPEN Command Received.
28 escalation
If none of the above apply, escalate to P2 Exec On Call for support.
