How to Schedule a Future Maintenance Action

published HW: EV2HW: EV3

If you are short on asset availability, scheduling a maintenance action in the future allows you to keep the asset in service and schedule maintenance at a planned future date.

NOTE: Only use this when it is stated in the troubleshooting steps to do so.

If a Droid has a THRUSTER_AFT_TIMEOUT error, you can power cycle until the thruster comes up and return the Droid to service. However, maintenance will eventually need to be performed on the Droid to reprogram the charger EEPROM.

  1. Create a new Work Order (WO) with “Scheduled” as the first word in the title.
  2. Set the due date for when the maintenance must be done. For things that could be critical failures, good liaison with the owning engineering team is important. For nuisance-level items, align with normal scheduled maintenance tempo.
  3. (Optional but recommended) Add a comment in the work order explaining why the asset must be inspected and/or maintenance must be performed so that the person completing the maintenance has the full picture.
