Aircraft Stuck During Undocking After OPEN Command Received

published Last Updated: Oct 9, 2026 HW: all

If an aircraft detects it is stuck on undocking after the open command has been received by the dock, this usually points to some physical issue with the fin<->latch interface. Historically, we’ve seen issues with:

  • Latch faulting on opening
  • Delayed latch opening
  • Broken Dock lead-in funnel
  • Misaligned-aligned zip fin sockets

Ground both the dock and zip while working through this guide. A CONTROLLER_STUCK_ON_DOCK alarm after the dock receives the OPEN command means that a physical issue may be preventing the zip from descending smoothly during undocking. That issue could be on the zip side, dock side, or both. You may need to manually create a dock discrepancy if there isn’t one already, since zip aircraft alarms cannot create auto discrepancies with docks at the moment.
